Yeah, he's definitely got the kitbashing gene.  I check that site religiously.

Knowing that the Armorcast line is back up gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.  Granted I'll be ripping off most of Sean's ideas, but at least I have the opportunity to do it right with the pipes, etc.  Grin

That thing on the roof is an HO scale water tower thingy ( it's a technical term)  Gin has one sitting around the shop somewhere. He can tell you who made it and if it is still in production.

The what tank on the top of the building is made by Pola, an HO scale model train company. It came in an accessory kit and it goes in and out of production over the years. I would check out walthers.com to see if it is still available.

Cool.  Thanks for the info.  You can find some cool items like that for "urban decay" buildings in the RR shops/online, but it's kind of hit and miss.

I agree with a lot of the folks here that the sci-fi details are important.  Right after the pipes  Grin

Just a quick note before I forget, I'd love to see the Containers line brought back soon as well...
These, I mean:  http://www.armorcast.com/terraform/Contain.html

I swear, there's so many things I couldn't afford to get in the past.  I thought my chance was gone forever... now I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl over this stuff!

You know, the really hard part in all of this is *not* going "We want it all now" followed closely by "And then we want X and Y and Z and......"

The pipelines are the bee's knees, the refinery is cool, the containers would be great, more industrial/building details would be appreciated, and the list goes on and on.  I seriously need to sell a kidney or something in a real hurry.  Cheesy

speaking of containers......

I'd really like to see big shipping containers. They could be used as containers stacked on a dockyard or trainyard.....or could be used in "urban decay" setting as housing for punks or gangers.

Under dark future/sci-fi building details--buttresses.  A variety of them would be super-cool, but really, a basic banded-iron looking buttress would be great.  Provides lots of cover for those guys on the ground and helps reinforce the "industrial" look of a variety of buildings.  Just a thought.

OOooooh.  Big shipping containers....*very* interesting.....

Do you mean like a flying buttress(an inch or 2 away from the model connecting at a small elevated point) or a diagonal, angle, set-back or clasping style (directly attached to the models)?

Hi Matt -

I can't speak for what shenlung, but there are two types of buttresses:

1) The larger "Flying" type that you cite (see Notre Dame Cathedral) and
2) The smaller, usually shorter "Attached" type that, if you look in plan, seem to be fins off of the walls at right angles (most cathedrals, including Notre Dame have these)

Here's a site with some good reference pics of Notre Dame ... http://www.greatbuildings.com/buildings/Notre_Dame_Cathedral.html

Both would provide great and unique cover for our connon fodder, er, troops, and allow for more terrain customizations.  Got my vote !!!

Yes please Smiley

Actually, I can't find a good picture to rip off, modify, and post here (yet).  In the CoD mega-table, you can see that the GW guys have access to "generic" city sprues that have a lot less detail than what they're selling right now.  Easier to bulk up a city and not get carried away with excessively gothic features.

They have two bulkhead options on those sprues--one is an elongated trapezoid, the other is like a straight bulkhead stuck on a small version of the tall bulkhead.  The idea is that you can use either separately, or place one on top of the other for a *really* tall bulkhead. I'll see if I can find a good picture to show you.

If the gw secret police come after you, I apologize.  You can see what I'm referring to in this picture:
http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/CoD/terrain/table/popup.htm?images/18_lg.jpg

The two buttress styles are shown as a single large buttress on the underside of the big bird head.

How about trying to get the Scotia-Grendel line or at least selected pieces? Another company was gonna do it but the deal fizzled. They had some cool bulkheads and stuff

The Scotia Grendel line is scattered all over the place now. As far as I know S-G still has some of it. MegaMinis has a lot of it and Ironwind has a few pieces. What's the other company you mentioned, TK?
