So with the Retro Pulp Miniature scene exploding, what kind of terrain and miniatures would you, the consumer, like to see as terrain and miniatures?

So..my first question is:

How does everyone understand the term "Retro Pulp" ?  Are we talking Buck Rogers or Flashg Gordon style pulps of the 1930's?  I hope so, because if that's the case, I'm anxious to see anything that reflects the "true pulp" material, rather the often, and less faithful stuff that seems to be popular in some circles.

Here's an exmple of "real pulp"

So, I say...bring on the pulp!  The pulpier the better!

Giant death rays and tesla coils would have to be high on the want list and machines with those big throw switches on them.

But seriously this would have to involve disintegrating ray guns, stompy robots that couldn't possibly be just stuntmen in cardboard suits, guys with jet packs and a lack of safety gear, mad midget scientists, and ladies who had to be sewn into their costumes- with little skirts over their tights.

You can't go wrong with an operating/questionable surgery table complete with restraints.

Or consoles with random little buttons and one big red button.

Or cages.

Or a rocket sled.

Or just a dog with a starfighter ace helmet on.

Or a groovy flying saucer.

And where we be without a couple of greys with a hapless redneck victim?

Obviously, I would like to see some Alex Raymond style Rocketships, both crashed and in fighting trim.  The tunneling device discussed on another topic is perfect for those expeditions to Hollow Earth.  Barsoomian flyers that can accommodate 28mm would be nice.  Monster pulled chariots with mounted laser cannons are good also.  Let’s not forget landships.  How about a really big Shoggoth? There have been some of these things on the market before but not for the 28mm modern scale.

I didn't even know this scene was "Exploding!!"

What games are out there that are exploring this genre?

I am pretty much stuck with Infinity, Battletech, Flames of War, and Ambush Alley. But there is always room for more!!!

I have noticed a large increase in pulp games at local cons and the big east coast HMGS cons.  "Pulp .45 Adventure" is the system we use around here for the Prospector Bob continuing adventures.

The one human fig we really need is an attractive girl with a Broomhandle Mauser.   And maybe a twin engined plane to go with that steam powered fighter Armorcast already makes.  Maybe with optional floats to reach the really back of beyond areas.  I think Curtis made an excellent looking one called the AT-9 Jeep during WW2.
