I think you guys are gods. A landing pad and a roof-top landing pad in addition to a drop/gunship. The sketches alone are worth a beer if I can peek at Origins.  Grin

good thing that the Char is right across the street...saves you from having to walk too far...

as for xeno-architecture, I would think that something like the Kremlin would be a good example with the Onion-topped domes on the cathedral in Red Square being a good example...with some minor modification, you could make it Tau-like...

I would think that classic, Orky-type buildings would be wasy to make, but I'm not a sculptor...I know that there are a lot of dilapidated shacks in my hometown back in Texas that would be perfect...

We have a small but dedicated worldwide group who still play Chronopia and Warzone. We hang out at

http://forum54.oli.us/

Drop by sometime and see if any of us are in your area. We will also be running Warzone, Chronopia and Legions of Steel at Origins

I always thought that the Blackblood architecture would be more like classical mosques with minarets, and the very Moorish-style architecture that you find in Spain and Morocco...you could use the Russian-style for Rasputins, the Devout, even Bauhaus...

Actually Barry there is not that much difference in the two as both spread from the same area - Constantinople. The Caliphates who captured Turkey spread it further east toward India and west to North Afirica and Southern Spain. Meanwhile the Eatern Orthodox religion carried into the Southern Don region and from there up thru most of western Russia. Apart form the ornamentation the two styles are really similar. Unfrotunately the Czars and later the Soviets westernized many of the more famous examples in the old Soviet Union.

Another idea close to the drop pod thing:
How about doing a giant drill for underground shock troops? Was done before with GW licence, but idea is too general to be copyrighted (see e.g. Thunderbirds in the 60s):

Possible also a similar Fantasy/SteamPunk version:

A 90o elbow on the overhead pipelines would be cool.  I have visions of using them for a catwalk around the edge of a larger piece.  Maybe a pipe-to-wall end section similar to the pipe-wall, but for horizontal/flat use as well.

there are some similarities between the 2 styles of architecture, but if you see some of the later styles of Moorish-style architecture like the Alhambra in Spain, or the Cathedral of Cordoba (which is actually a converted Moorish mosque), there are some distinctions that are fairly obvious, even though comparing the two you can see that they derived from the same root style...

how about that, a discussion of classical architecture in a gaming forum...and they say we can't talk about serious things... Grin

I have a pic of a "Mole" that I wish I could upload but haven't mastered the skill. It would be cool if you could modify a Scarab to be the delivery vehicle and have the Mole on it. Additionally you could make a nose and a tail section both sticking up from the ground. One final bit could be a crater to note where the tunneller entered underground. You could offer it as a set or as individual pieces. Here is a link where you can see the configuration I am refering to

on that train of thought, I believe that I have seen in the past a "Mole" that had it's drill sticking out of the ground jus far enough for the door to be exposed as if it was coming out of the ground to deploy it's crew/cargo...maybe I just saw some sketches of it, but I think I've seen something like that in the past...

easiest way to poct pics is with your own photobucket account.
Save the pick in your photobucket album
then use image tags to make it show up here.

I can do it for you if you give me a link to the photo.

Perhaps "Techifying" Kits could be made? Resin parts cast to fit onto Armorcast's non Sci-Fi structures? Think of the possibilities! The Cathedral and other Medieval stuff would suddenly become of more use to Sci-Fi gamers. Not only that, but you could make more fantasy sculpts which are easily adaptable to a Sci-Fi setting! It could cut costs of having masters made, and mean fewer castings to keep track of.
